ENVI015 - Comparison of the State of Trees and Shrub Plantations of the Microdistrict 712 for 13 Years
We have counted trees and shrubs in microdistrict 12, surveyed their condition, analysed species composition, habitat protection characteristics of plantations and life status of trees. Oak and spruce are located at the border of their habitats. Cultivars - 4 species (species belong to woody species of eastern Asia and North America). These species are the most hardy in the conditions of cities with developed petrochemical industry. Their use in landscaping provides greater stability of the assortment in smoke conditions and allows them to fulfil the function of a green filter for a long time. The dominant species is birch. The main composition includes: linden with high gasabsorbing and gas-tolerant properties; mountain ash; sharp-leaved maple and common spruce, as well as balsam poplar. Spruce has low gas absorption and gas tolerance, but high phytoncidal properties. Planting requires more careful care, frequent watering. It should be planted on the territory of schools, kindergartens and hospitals or replaced by a more gas-resistant species - prickly spruce. Most of the trees are represented in courtyard plantings. The microdistrict is dominated by trees of life condition class 2 and 3. There is a significant share of young plantings and a number of severely weakened trees (life status class 4). However, their vital state may improve as they grow, as they are not yet fully adapted seedlings. The fate of young trees of life condition classes 2 and 3 may also change, either towards improvement or deterioration, depending on the quality of care. The species diversity of shrubs is represented by 8 species. In our study we will compare our data (2023 year) with the data of 2010 and make appropriate conclusions and give advice on planting, cutting down and taking care of trees and shrubs in the microdistrict.
