COMP034 - An Optimization of Artificial Intelligence with Other Play in the Multi-agent Board Game Diplomacy

Speak/Pause/Resume Stop

The Zero-Shot Coordination problem has recently gained much attention in the context of multi-agent interactions, especially for its potential to optimize agent cooperation in complex environments. This paper explores the application of the Other-Play algorithm to the board game Diplomacy, a multi-agent game that requires strategic collaboration and negotiation among players. We propose the use of Other-Play as a method to increase the level of communication and interaction between artificial agents in playing the game of Diplomacy, by applying the principles of Zero-Shot Coordination. We believe that this approach will further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cooperative strategies in such complex game settings.
