BIOL031 - How Is the Physical Experience of Pain in Humans Influenced by the Brain?

Our profile paper is about the influence of the brain on the physical experience of pain in humans. In this research we are going to deal with different aspects. First we will discuss the concept of pain (anatomy). Then we will deal with phantom pain, followed by an experiment to show that the brain can think things that are not so. We will also do an experiment on phantom pain in this section. According to this, we will discuss the concept of emotions and their influence on the physical experience of pain. Thirdly, distraction is dealt with in an experiment in which we show that distraction reduces the physical pain experience. Finally, we will discuss stress.
